Dr. Matthew Daniels was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He had a desire to go into the medical field a very young age, and ever since his first eye exam at the age of 15 after failing the DMV vision test, he has had an appreciation and interest in the science and physiology of the ocular system. Dr. Daniels earned a B.S. from University of Central Florida. Upon graduation he moved out of Florida to become a Doctor of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
He had completed externships at the Naval base in Newport,RI, The Eye Center in Memphis,TN and at the Bernstein Center for Visual Performance in White Plains, NY. Dr. Daniels found his first job in Columbia, South Carolina and fell in love with the charm of South Carolina and decided to make it his home. Dr. Daniels has been in practice for 11 years, specializing in contacts and dry eyes. He is a member of AOA, South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association, and past president of the Midlands Optometric Society. He is married to the love of his life, Aston, who a surgical nurse at Lexington Medical Center. They have two amazing boys, 7 year old Luca and 4 year old Finn. Dr. Daniels is an avid sports fan and enjoys being outside and staying active.
